Terms of service

1.1. These Terms set out the conditions for using the Platform and are binding on all of its Users.

1.2. Use of the Platform, including submitting information for publication or expressing interest in resources, is deemed to constitute each User's full acceptance of these Terms.

1.3. The LIFE integrated project “Waste To Resources Latvia – Promoting Regional Sustainability and Circularity by Implementing the Waste as a Resource Concept” (LIFE Waste To Resources IP, LIFE20 IPE/LV/000014) has received funding from the European Union's LIFE programme and the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development. The information provided on the Platform reflects only the views of Us and the project partners, and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency is not responsible for any use that may be made of the information it contains.

1.4. Applying for additional activities offered through the Platform (for example, the accelerator programme, training, or cross-sector collaboration events) may be governed by separate terms or agreements, of which the User is informed when the cooperation begins.

2.1. The purpose of the Platform is to promote industrial symbiosis in Latvia by allowing companies to publish and search listings for available or needed production residues, by-products and resources.

2.2. We provide a tool for exchanging information and are not a party to any agreement concluded between Users.

2.3. We are not responsible for the quality, origin, availability or safety of resources, or for the accuracy of the data submitted by Users. Users evaluate their cooperation partners independently and assume all risks associated with transactions.

2.4. We accept no responsibility for the content and information placed on other internet resources to which the User may be directed by links placed on the Platform.

2.5. The User is prohibited from using the Platform for any unlawful purposes, for posting false or misleading information, for infringing the rights of third parties, or for any activity that could disrupt the operation of the Platform (including automated data collection without prior written agreement). In the event of a breach of the Terms, We reserve the right to immediately restrict, suspend or fully block the User's access to the Platform and to delete the information posted.

3.1. At present, listings on the Platform are published and viewed without User registration (creating an account). Information for publication is submitted by contacting Us.

3.2. By submitting a listing, the User confirms that the information provided is accurate and that they are entitled to dispose of and to publish the resources indicated.

3.3. All submitted resource listings are published anonymously on the Platform. The company name and contact details remain hidden from all public visitors to the Platform.

3.4. Users can learn about cooperation partners in the resource marketplace only once they have expressed specific interest and We have provided the partner's contact details.

3.5. We reserve the right, without prior notice, to reject or delete any listing that does not comply with the Terms, contains false information, or indicates handling of hazardous waste that does not comply with regulatory requirements.

3.6. The User grants Us an unlimited and royalty-free right to publish the submitted resource information (without any attached personal or company data) within the Platform.

4.1. As regards personal data, the privacy policy complies with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and with the Personal Data Processing Law, as well as other applicable sectoral legislation in force.

4.2. In order to operate the resource marketplace, to build further industrial symbiosis partnerships and communication, and to provide services and communicate, We process the data submitted by the User (name, surname, e-mail, phone, the company represented). The data is stored until the User requests its deletion, but no longer than 5 years after the last contact, so as to keep the data current and compliant with GDPR requirements.

4.3. By using the Platform's option to receive news, invitations to events, or information about new cooperation or resource marketplace opportunities, the User agrees to receive current information related to industrial symbiosis and the operation of the platform by e-mail. The User has the right to opt out of receiving further e-mails at any time by contacting Us.

4.4. We process the data and other information provided by the User in order to:

1. maintain and improve the services provided by the Platform;
2. verify the truthfulness of information and prevent unlawful use of the Platform or of listings, as well as maintain a safe Platform environment;
3. protect the interests of other Users (for example, if the Platform is used to carry out unlawful activities);
4. record and analyse the operation of the Platform, using the data in aggregated form. For analysis and statistics We process only pseudonymised and non-personalised data (for example, on the number of users) and do not process contact details or other identifying information. This data does not allow a specific User to be identified.

4.5. The User has the following data protection rights:

1. Access and data portability: to request information about your data and to receive a copy of it.
2. Rectification: to request the correction of inaccurate data in the listings submitted.
3. Erasure: to request the immediate deletion of your data and listings.
4. Restriction of and objection to processing: to request that processing be restricted, or to object to it.

4.6. We have the right not to comply with Your request:

1. if it is not formulated comprehensibly;
2. if we are unable to identify You;
3. if we have already provided an answer to such a request;
4. if the volume of information requested is disproportionate;
5. if the request is unfounded (it does not concern our organisation, or no explanation is given as to why the request should be met);
6. if legislation provides that we are not entitled to give You such information or that we are obliged to retain specific data of Yours.

5.1. Cookies may be used on the Platform to make it easier to use, to improve the quality of content, and for statistics (non-personalised information on the number of users and traffic). Detailed information is available in the Sinergia Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

5.2. All intellectual property rights in the design, code, databases and logos of the Platform belong to Us or to its cooperation partners and are protected by copyright.

5.3. The content may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only, unless stated otherwise. Content submitted by Users (for example, listing descriptions) remains the property of the respective User, but by publishing it the User grants the Platform a non-exclusive right to display and distribute that content within the Platform and to promote it on social networks with a reference to the Platform.

6.1. Any disputes between Us and the User are first resolved through negotiation.

6.2. Once the User has contacted Us, the complaint is examined and an answer is provided no later than 15 working days from the moment it is received.

6.3. If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it is settled in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia in a court of the Republic of Latvia.
